About the Fiscal Sustainability Committee
MISSION and Purpose
The ABRF Fiscal Sustainability Committee is composed of at least four active members. The Committee’s purpose is to provide consistent attention to the strength of the mission and case for support, the resources required to carry out the mission, plans for cultivating and soliciting the needed private and public funds, fundraising involvement, and implementation of best practices for revenue generation and diversification.
Structure and Composition
The Fiscal Sustainability Committee includes the Immediate-Past-President and at least three other active ABRF members.
Committee members are recommended to have a business or marketing background, either through education or practical experience.
The Chair will be recommended by the ABRF President-Elect and approved by the Executive Board.
Functions and Responsibilities:
The Fiscal Sustainability Committee will specifically be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue potential revenue generating activities
- Leverage other ABRF resources to develop new products, pitches, proposals, presentations to be utilized for marketing the organization and generating revenue
- Engage with ABRF leadership to identify and develop strategic relationships and collaborations with funding agencies and other organizations for mutually beneficial revenue generating activities and funding streams
- Review policies relating to the development of financial resources for the Association, outside of membership and sponsorship revenue.
- Prepare for Board discussion any proposed goals and policies for development of financial resources, including fundraising campaigns, planned giving, or special events.
- Lead the Board’s participation in resource development and fundraising.
- Actively assist in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of external funding opportunities.
- Ensure that the case for support is strong, current, and based on ABRF’s mission and goals; and distinguishes ABRF from other associations.
Terms of Office:
The committee members will serve three-year terms as appointed by the Executive Board.
Meetings:
The Committee shall meet at least twice annually, or more frequently as circumstances dictate. In addition, the Committee Chair or his/her delegate shall be available to answer any question the Executive Board may have regarding the matters considered and actions taken by the Committee.
