Catalyzing Excellence in Shared Research Resources to Advance Collaborative Science Worldwide
ABRF is a unique membership association comprising over 3,000 members working within or in the support of resource and research biotechnology laboratories. Our members represent more than 400 laboratories and administrative offices in government, academia, research, industry and commercial settings.
ABRF promotes education and career advancement for scientists, core administrators, and staff through conferences, a quarterly journal, publication of research group studies and conference scholarships. The society also sponsors multi-center research studies designed to help members incorporate new biotechnologies into their laboratories.
Executive Board
The Executive Board meets monthly to discuss operational and financial updates, current and emerging issues, review and follow-up action items, etc. In addition, on a rotating basis, the Board spends time on core topics including the ABRF budget, annual meeting, chapters, research groups, advocacy, etc. The President, Past President, and President-Elect, in consultation with the Executive Board, draft the monthly meeting agenda. The Board also meets twice a year in-person for 1 ½ days for in-depth analysis of future direction of the association and its advancement of its members. The Board shares monthly updates to inform ABRF members about its actions and decisions and invite their feedback.
