Building a single cell sequencing service:
Lessons from a core facility at Oklahoma State University
Demand for single cell sequencing keeps growing among core facility users, but launching a new service raises practical questions well before the first sample arrives. Directors need a technology that fits their lab’s resources, along with a plan for supporting researchers who may be new to single cell experimental design.
In this presentation, Samuel Jeyasingh, Lab Director of the Next Generation Sequencing Core at Oklahoma State University, shares how his core decided to offer Parse single cell sequencing and what it took to establish it as a service. He’ll cover the operational side of the launch, from early planning through onboarding the first users. Lizzy Lasley, Field Application Scientist at Parse Biosciences, joins him to discuss lessons from working with the researchers who request the service, including the questions that come up most often and how the core guides projects from experimental design to data.
This session is designed for core directors and staff who are considering adding single cell services or looking to strengthen an existing service.
