SUMMARY:DEIB Virtual Education and Training Series: Bystander Intervention
DESCRIPTION:ABRF is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of our community. Achieving this requires continual learning and growth—together. \nJoin the ABRF DEIB Council on September 14\, 2026 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ET for a virtual session focused on bystander intervention. \nCreating inclusive\, respectful\, and safe professional environments is a shared responsibility. This interactive virtual session introduces the 5 D’s\, a practical framework that helps individuals recognize harmful or inappropriate behavior and respond with confidence. Participants will learn actionable strategies for intervening safely and effectively in a variety of settings\, including meetings\, virtual spaces\, conferences\, and everyday professional interactions. Through discussion\, real-world examples\, and guided practice\, the session explores the five Ds (direct\, distract\, delegate\, delay\, and document) and how to select an approach that aligns with both the situation and personal comfort level. By the end of the session\, participants will leave with practical tools\, shared language\, and increased confidence to move from awareness to action and support more inclusive and respectful workplaces. \nRegister here \nAll are welcome—come ready to listen\, learn\, and grow.
